Is the Touching Hearts at Home care assessment really free?

Yes! We do this work because we are passionate about people getting the best possible care. When you call to learn about your care options, we start by sending a nurse out to visit with you and your loved one, assessing the care needs. If your loved one is at home, we assess what changes may need to happen for them to stay there. Does Touching Hearts at Home provide other types of care than in-home senior care?

Yes! In fact a resounding yes. We are able to provide many types of care thanks to our comprehensive license which not every in-home care company obtains. This enables us to customize care plans because we know that each individual is unique and so are their needs. We offer a range of types of care including:

  • In-Home Care
  • Personal Care
  • Supplemental Care (alongside care from another agency or facility, or respite)
  • 24-Hour Care
  • Companion Care
  • Memory Care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s
  • Transportation Services

We give you simple, straightforward pricing, so you don’t have to scramble to handle surprise costs. We have flexible care options at a minimum of one 3-hour shift per week up to 24-hours a day. We respect your privacy by arriving in plain vehicles and plain clothes. Our comprehensive license allows us to offer different types of care and continue with clients as needs change. If we find that what you need is a service we are unable to provide, we’ll recommend someone we trust to assist. We offer a free senior placement service to help you find the best care and living arrangement for your loved one.

What is the cost of your service and what is included?

We are unable to provide a flat rate as each situation is different and each individual has unique needs. However, the pricing we provide after we connect with you is always simple and straightforward. An additional charge may be seen only if an individual requires skilled nursing services. This means it will include the care a client receives as well as weekly check-ins, and 24-7 phone support with a real person. The caregivers you’ll see on a regular basis aren’t the only ones dedicated to the quality of care, the entire team is, too, including the owners, nursing staff, and administrators. But we don’t charge you extra for a nurse visit or check-in meeting like many others do.

Do you accept long-term care insurance?

Yes, we do! We will work directly with the insurer as necessary.

Do you have a minimum amount of care time you will provide?

Yes, but unlike many other companies, our minimum is one 3-hour shift per week.

Will I have a choice as to the caregiver I work with?

Yes. Our experienced staffing coordinators will make an informed decision regarding a caregiver who has the personality, skills, and availability that is best suited to help you. If at any time or for any reason you are not completely satisfied with a caregiver we will gladly work with you to make a change.

What if I need to cancel a visit or cancel service?

We require that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a visit or cancel service.

How do I make changes to my scheduled visits?

We understand how situations can change quickly, so we will always be flexible and accommodate your request as quickly as possible. It’s important that you notify us as soon as you know you have a need

My loved one is on a waitlist for senior housing or assisted living, now what?

If in-home care is necessary in the meantime, we can work with you to cover care in the time until your family member is able to move to their new home.

Are you able to work with a couple who both need care?

Absolutely! Depending on the level of care each individual needs, one caregiver may be suited to both people or additional help may be necessary.
